My name is Robin Warner and my boyfriend suffers from trigeminal migraines. He has had these for about 2 1/2 years. For the first six months he vomited every day and was in severe pain daily. He has been seeing a new neurologist for about a year and a half. This doctor has tried Botox, other injections, pain medications, oxygen, Vimpat, etc. He was doing well (however still having migraines but fewer with larger gaps in between for 1 1/2 yrs) They are not back FULL FORCE. We have had to go to the ER quite a few times lately to get “cockails” as he vomits all of his medications. While suffering, he has to call friends, family, whomever, because he cannot be alone. He is in such severe pain at those times that he just wants it to “end”. He will say “this is the last time I can do this” “I can’t do this again”. He asks for his gun. He just wants the pain to end. He as well as I and the rest of his family are very concerned that he will have an accidental overdose due to the amount of pain meds he takes while he has those migraines. He does NOT want to die however while in pain, he just doesn’t care. The migraines might last 10 minutes or 5 hours. There is no factor that we can deduce that causes them, other than the fact that he will get muscle spams in his shoulder right before they kick in full force. He has no quality of life right now as these happen any time, anywhere. He cries, he rocks, he is in absolute misery. This is a 41 year old man who has completed the “Boss Survival Course” is an avid fly fisherman, survivalist, loves to camp, hike, etc. He LOVES life when he does not have this pain, however we are all concerned we will lose him because of an “accident” when he is experiencing this. Is there anything that can be done. He will do anything it takes. I apologize for the length of this email, however while looking for a “cure” I watched a video of one of your patients. It seems as you are our only hope. Please let me know if your clinic is even an option. Thank you in advance for your response.
We see patients here with trigeminal neuralgia with very good results. FCR works with Trigeminal Neuralgia by doing two things. First it releases connective tissue from around the area’s of the trigeminal nerve as well as the blood vessels that can cause irritation to the trigeminal nerve. Second it balances the brain hemispheres. This can be of great help because the brain is what ultimatly feels pain. You see your body has millions of nerves that all fire into the brain. The brain is mostly whats called inhibitory to these pain nerves. That is to say the brain holds down all the noise so you don’t go crazy. When your brain is functioning out of balance then the pain becomes whats called sensitized. This sensitization is what can cause pain syndromes in which there is no real damage or injury. So FCR works with both of these VERY REAL physical issues patients with trigeminal neuralgia must address to become free of their pain. I would be happy to see your boyfreind anytime. Please let me know if there is any thing else I can answer for you.
